Evelyn: A celebration of Women, Art and the Creative Process.
7 to 9 p.m. SUNDAY, APRIL 22 • Delight in an evening with painter Elissa Slanger and "Evelyn," her inspiring 30-minute film about a prolific artist who continues to create colorful works of art well into her 90s. Hear about Evelyn Brenner's style, work and astonishing commitment as well as the making of the film. Following the film Elissa will moderate a lively panel discussion with accomplished Tahoe-Truckee artists including Brooke Bishop, Eva Nichols and Nancy Tieken Lopez. This event is a must for women and mature teens seeking a heart warming evening out in Truckee. Come with a friend, daughter, niece, aunt, mother, grandmother or anyone you'd like to enjoy time with. $22 includes admission and beverage of choice.
6 to 8 p.m. TUESDAY, APRIL 24
Muralist Susie Alexander brings joy, color and passion to each work of art and workshop she facilitates. Join us at Cedar House Sport Hotel for a hands-on project inspired by "Evelyn." $20 includes all material (there will be lots to choose from!) and craft to bring home.
